by Karen San Diego, IV-Gold

By the cooperation of students and parents, the last Family Day of Lagro
High School,January 26,became a success,Dr. Noemi Moncada said.

The program began with the student parade at 9 o’clock, followed by the
parents and teachers meeting at 11.The agenda of the meeting had been about the
Junior-Senior Promenade to be held at the school campus on February 16,and
about the closing date of Senior Graduation,May 21.Congresswoman Annie Rosa
Susano visited the meeting as part of her campaign.

At 12 pm,a school dance competition was held, joined by all four year
levels.Fourth year students, under the training of Mrs. Enriquetta Buenaventura of
MAPEH Department,won the said contest.

Because of the success,as considered by the school principal, the teachers and
students are now looking forward to the next programs, though not another Family
Day,to be as much successful.

Lagro High School joined, for the first time, the University of the Philippines
Organization of Business Economics Majors – organized event, the Econ-No-Mix
2013.

Econ-No-Mix is an annual Economics Convention and Competition for High
School students. It comes in six different categories: Stock Trading Game,Quiz
Bee,Debate,Poster-Making,Essay-Writing and Idea Generation (which was
canceled due to lack of number of participants).LHS AP Department handled the
selection of representatives to join each contest in the following dates: January 14,
28 and February 4.

Being one of the very few public schools in the equation,LHS had been able
to excel in the different categories.

Ompeting students came from sections Platinum and Gold of the Senior
year.Although the representatives in two categories failed to make it to the
finals, the competitors for the Stock Trading Game,Poster-Making and Essay-
Writing contests still await the announcement of winners on February 4.
